Awards and Achievements
Community Involvement
Partnering with the local communities in which our facilities and programs operate is one of Cornell’s Core Values. The clients and offenders in our programs receive beneficial therapeutic rehabilitation through sharing their energy and time on community service projects.
Our emphasis on community participation gives us the opportunity to recognize the outstanding efforts made by all of our facilities, as well as to highlight some of the more creative and far-reaching community involvement activities at our various Cornell locations.
Accreditations
Many of our facilities have earned accreditation from the American Correctional Association. It is the only organization to administer national accreditation for all facets of adult and juvenile corrections facilities and programs. The accreditation program allows corrections providers to evaluate their operations against national standards, to remedy deficiencies and to upgrade the quality of correctional programs and services.
ACA standards are the national benchmark for effective operation of correctional systems in the U.S. and address services, programs and sound correctional management, including administrative and fiscal controls, staff training and development, physical plant, safety and emergency procedures, sanitation, food service and rules and discipline.
We are proud of the Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations accreditation status for many of our outpatient, home care and residential behavioral health service programs. JCAHO, the nation's predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care, is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation. JCAHO accreditation standards, developed in conjunction with health care experts, providers, measurement experts, purchasers, and consumers, exceed state and federal regulatory requirements in assuring quality client care.
