Offender and Facility Facts

  • The Las Vegas Community Corrections Center provides transitional services in a supervised environment in order to assist offenders in becoming employed, law-abiding citizens in their respective communities.
  • All offenders are subject to a structured environment. A level system exists in order to progressively increase an offender’s community interaction.
  • Assignments to the 124-bed center are made through a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
  • Offenders may be pre-release residents actively serving a federal prison sentence or public law residents currently on federal supervision status.
  • Other referral sources include Pre-Trial Services and self-pay clients. Pre-Trial residents are awaiting trial in Federal court. Self-pay residents may participate in the program as an alternative to state and/or county incarceration.
  • Security measures include 24-hour custodial supervision, closed circuit cameras and frequent census checks.

Key Services

The following voluntary programs and services help prepare offenders to return to their local communities and provide for their well being while at the facility.

  • Every offender is assigned a case manager. Providing assistance with the offender’s program needs is the primary responsibility of the case manager.
  • Individualized program plans are developed stressing permanent full-time employment and re-establishment of community and family ties.
  • The facility’s Job Developers are responsible for providing employment training and assistance with interview techniques, resume writing and/or completing applications.
  • Substance Abuse counseling, including group and individual sessions, is provided for every offender identified with a history of alcohol and/or drug abuse.
  • 12-Step Programs are available within the facility. Offenders also have access to these programs in the community.
